I believe that creatures can choose to communicate with humans. This little Ruby-throated Hummingbird comes back to our cottage year after year. The last time we were up at our cottage, I hadn't put the feeder out and our little friend landed on the bracket that holds the feeder. He just sat there and stared at me until I got up and put the feeder out. We usually take it in during the evening to keep it away from raccoons or bears. I normally put it out every morning at dawn. If I decide to make a coffee first, I am usually made to feel guilty because he is sitting there waiting for me.

Photography has always been a creative passion of mine. In my career as a graphic designer for 33 years, I have utilized the photography skills I had learned as a student of The Ontario College of Art (OCAD). I feel this knowledge made me a more complete designer. When a design required an image, I was able to grab my camera and shoot what I needed to fit the layout I created. As a former educator, I have always told my photography students that I was going to open their creative eyes. This is the basis of all my photography, to view our natural world in a creative, unique way.
