My first morning in New Zealand and I am treated to this beautiful beach at dawn. It was an unusual low tide because the sea doesn't normally retreat so far. Renown for it's world class surfing, it was a great introduction into my New Zealand experience.
Photography has always been a creative passion of mine. In my career as a graphic designer for 33 years, I have utilized the photography skills I had learned as a student of The Ontario College of Art (OCAD). I feel this knowledge made me a more complete designer. When a design required an image, I was able to grab my camera and shoot what I needed to fit the layout I created. As a former educator, I have always told my photography students that I was going to open their creative eyes. This is the basis of all my photography, to view our natural world in a creative, unique way.
